Counselling For Children
Children can often struggle with their emotions in relation to events and situations in their lives and this can impact on their wellbeing. Counselling can help children to cope with their big feelings and emotions and can improve their self-esteem, resilience and overall emotional wellbeing. Counselling can help with anxiety, anger management, and low mood/ depression.
We provide child-centred, child-led counselling. Our special room for children is equipped with art and craft materials, a large sand tray, high quality toys, games and figures, a puppet theatre with hand puppets, and body-maps. We adjust and tailor therapeutic activities according to the child’s age and developmental stage.
Counselling is confidential (unless there is risk to personal safety) and it therefore provides a safe space for children to express whatever is troubling them without fear of judgement. Your child will be carefully and respectfully listened to and accompanied in their counselling journey with friendliness, empathy and acceptance.
